This page describes the installation and upgrade procedures. The necessary files can be found at the end of the page. Release notes can be found <a href=\"\/index.php\/category\/firmware-release\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Installation<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Install Flytec (Prolific) USB-Serial driver. Details for installing the driver can be found <a href=\"\/index.php\/info\/for-pilot\/\" title=\"For Pilots\">here<\/a>.\n<li>Download Flytec Flasher (see below)\n<li>Download latest firmware (see below)\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Upgrade procedure<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make sure the logger is switched off\n<li>Connect the logger to the computer\n<li>Start Flytec Flasher and select the logger firmware (.moc file)\n<li>Use Update to load the firmware. This takes a few minutes. Please note that the progress bar is not accurate<br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.balloonloggers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/flasher.gif\" alt=\"flasher\" title=\"flasher\" width=\"359\" height=\"218\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.balloonloggers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/flasher.gif 359w, https:\/\/www.balloonloggers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/flasher-300x182.gif 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 359px) 100vw, 359px\" \/>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Remarks<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flasher doesn&#8217;t work with a COM-Port higher than 9. Please <a href='http:\/\/www.balloonloggers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/09\/Changing-the-COM-port-number.pdf' target='_blank'>read<\/a> the instructions from Flytec.<\/li>\n<li>The upgrade tool shows &#8220;Erasing flash memory&#8221;. This is referring to the firmware flash memory. Usually no track data on the logger is changed or deleted during firmware upgrade.
